Niobrara Valley Outdoor Education Partnership at Heart City Bull Bash, February 11, 2012
Over 100 people stopped in at the Niobrara Council Office to enjoy refreshments, view the nature library and partner displays, and make heart-shaped bird feeders. Alice Riege was the winner of the Bluebirds Across Nebraska bird house! Thank you to everyone who helped make this a successful event!

Niobrara Council receives $15,000 Nebraska Environmental Trust Grant!
Funds were used to purchase the following equipment:
Eight new Osagian aluminum canoes Bear canoe trailer Youth and adult paddles Youth and adult life jackets Tents Sleeping bags Canoe and camping accessories

THE MISSION OF THE NIOBRARA COUNCIL is to assist in all aspects of the management of the Niobrara National Scenic River corridor since a portion of the Niobrara River has been designated as a national scenic river under 16 U.S.C. 1274(a)(117), as such section existed on May 24, 1991.
The Niobrara Council's enabling legislation gives them express authority and responsibility to manage the Niobrara National Scenic River in conjunction with the National Park Service.
All activity within the Niobrara National Scenic River corridor shall be consistent with the purpose of the scenic river designation, including the scenic river's free-flowing condition and scenic, geological, biological, agricultural, historic and prehistoric resources.
